New Draw Anywhere Paradigm – In most cases, our users hate change; but you’re going to love this one. For years, our customers have been pleading for more flexible drawing methods and Apex Sketch v6 provides exactly that. Combined with our new area detection algorithms, this new drawing approach is going to turn a lot of heads!
Benefits of Draw Anywhere:
No More Define First – Defining your area first (especially from a mobile perspective) was an old limitation of previous applications that forced you to decide the best area to draw first which wasn’t always the easiest thing to do. Av6 allows you to draw all the lines of your areas and define them when you’re ready to.
Draw Anywhere, Anytime – The new drawing paradigm of Apex Sketch v6 allows you to pick your pen up and draw new lines somewhere else within your drawing port whenever you wish to. Now, when you encounter difficult portions of your sketch (in the field or at your desk), or wish to draw another area altogether – it’s as simple as just picking up your pen (cursor) and placing it down wherever you wish to draw.
Intuitive Area Definition – Apex Sketch v6 introduces several ways to define the shapes and areas you draw to match your specific workflow, preferences and/or requirements.
Area Definition Options:
Drag & Drop – Simply drop the area definition of your choice into any closed shape and it will be automatically calculated and defined. It just doesn’t get any easier than that!
Additive Area Definition – This new Area Definition method allows you to draw all of your areas at once and define each area by clicking in one or multiple closed shapes which with “add” them together to create a single defined area. Thanks to our new area detection algorithms, you no longer need to draw entire shapes, clone or copy existing areas.
Automatic Closed Area Detection – If you prefer to define areas as they are completed, you can set Apex Sketch v6 to prompt you with an Area Definition dialog whenever a closed shape is detected.
Geo-Referencing – Apex Sketch v6 introduces the ability to identify and store geo-reference information within the Apex sketch. Users can now record this Geo-Reference information when the building sketch file is created or when existing sketch files are edited.
